Rural India needs solar power for more than just lighting, study finds

A recent study in Science analysed the impact of solar mini-grids in Uttar Pradesh, India, finding that basic supply for lighting was not enough to boost savings, help launch new businesses or otherwise significantly improve people's lives. In this article for Reuters, our CTO Clementine Chambon suggests that larger clean power systems capable of providing enough energy to power businesses throughout the day are needed.
